Cyclestreets.net is a brilliant little website for bicyclists. Just enter where you are and where you want to go and it will take you a proper cyclists route, tell you the distance, how quiet or otherwiseit will be and how many calories you will burn completing it.
This is extraordinary. You can actually choose a route to avoid unnecessary hills. Excellent for the part-time cyclist!

Took my ‘baby’, I mean bike, here having taken it to another well known retailer who charged me for a service and trashed it! Excellent customer service, bike fully overhauled, fixed, and now in perfect shape. Can not recommend highly enough. I will go nowhere else from now on.

Matt and the team are superb. Very helpful, very friendly. Would not use any other shop. You always pay a few pence more with a local shop but it is priceless when you know you get quality work from good people. Recommended.

Bomber Bikeworks

4, Station Road Workshops, Station Rd, Bristol BS15 4PJ, UK – 0117 327 0079

Recently discovered this gem of a place within 2 miles from home. Sourced the parts for me and I got a superb quality wheel build all at an unbeatable price. Friendly, extremely knowledgeable and goes above and beyond what is expected. Can't speak highly enough of this place.

Excellent service. First time I've used Bomber bike works, recommended by a friend and have to agree brilliant.

Bool's Bicycles

5 Staple Hill Rd, Bristol BS16 5AA, UK – 0117 939 2746

The guy in the shop told me he didn't want me to fix my flat tyre ( I purchased a pump and innertube) outside his shop becuase he's trying to run a buisness. His daughter/staff on the other hand was very polite and kind. Didn't accept card under a tennor which was a pain but nevermind. Good little shop just found the guy to be a bit arrogant as i wasn't outside the main door or anything just on the street outside his shop fixing my flat after making a purchase. Won't go again

My local bike shop. A smaller store than doesn't rip you off eg. Halfords, Specialized (quoted me £90 for a job Bools did for 40 incl labour) Classy, fast service. Fair prices. I would rather support this store even if its out of the way!
