Golf Clubs near Hanham

Find your nearest golf course or club or golf pro in or around Hanham. Actually this is really great way to see all the golf courses around Bristol at a glance. You will see distances and directions from you location and of course the all-important telephone number to check green fees and whether you can play when you want to play. Whenever I want to play it seems to be a Medal Day!

Tip! If you would like a cheap round of golf ask whether they do a Twilight rate. There is really nothing nicer than 9 holes after work - at half price!

Golf Courses

UWE Glenside Disc Golf Course

4 Blackberry Hill, Bristol BS16 1DB, UK

A collection of 9 Disc Golf baskets. A great place to practice as all of the baskets can be seen from pretty much anywhere. You can make holes up as you go. As an actual course it doesn't really hold together but good place to hone your skills. Grass can get a little long in the summer and you also get quite a few students sunbathing or playing football.

Shortwood Lodge Golf Club

Carsons Road, Mangotsfield, Bristol BS16 9LW, UK – 0117 956 5501

I learnt to play golf here, forty years ago. I like to play it occasionally for the good memories and to massage my ego! It's a good course to learn on because it's like a longer 'pitch 'n' putt' course and there are no difficult holes to catch you out. However, the course maintenance is very poor, with long grass on the fairways, unmaintained bunkers and very slow greens. To be fair, it's also pretty cheap to play. The course and catering seem to have gone backwards under the present owners, although the cosmetics of the clubhouse have been greatly improved. I recommend it for beginners. Play, learn and move on to one of the many beautiful and well maintained courses around Bristol.

Great value golf club, varied & challenging course. Not the longest of courses however interesting and keeps you thinking! Club house is welcoming both pre and post the round and id definitely recommend...
